How the Wordle solver narrows 2,309 answers without spoilers

The solver starts from a list of 2,309 likely answers and 12,953 valid guess words. It never shows an answer you have not earned from your own board: every word it keeps must fit every colour you entered, duplicates counted exactly.
From 2,309 to a handful
Each coloured tile is a rule. Green fixes a position, yellow requires a letter elsewhere, grey caps how many of a letter the word can hold. Apply all the rules together and the list collapses — usually to a handful after two or three guesses.
Two suggestions, kept separate
Most likely answer names the single word the pattern points to hardest. Best information guess names the word that splits the remaining answers best, even if it is unlikely to be the answer itself. Hard mode forces suggestions to reuse known greens and yellows.
Spoiler-free by design
Hint modes let you choose how much to see: count only, first letter, best guess only, or the full list. Nothing is uploaded and no official daily answer is published or archived here.
