Wordle rules in one minute

Site guide · Nov 2026

Green means the letter is in the word and in the right place. Yellow means the letter is in the word but not in that place. Grey means the letter is not counted in that guess — with one important exception for duplicates.

Green, yellow, grey — in plain language

A green tile fixes a letter in its position. A yellow tile says the letter is somewhere else in the word. A grey tile rules the letter out for that guess, unless the same guess also has a coloured tile for the same letter — then the word holds exactly as many of that letter as the coloured tiles show.

Duplicates, worked simply

Guess a word with two of the same letter. If one tile colours and the other stays grey, the answer holds exactly one of that letter. If both colour, it holds at least two. That single rule stops most solver surprises.

How to use it on this site

Type your guess on the solver board, tap each tile to match the colours you saw, and the list of words that still fit updates live. No answer is shown until your own pattern points to it.

Wordle Find is independent and unaffiliated. No daily official answers are published here, and no game on this site is the official version of the game it is named after.
