The Rules

How Geo Pin works

  1. 5 rounds per game. Each round is a place somewhere in the world — a street photo if one is available, otherwise text clues.
  2. Pin the map, then Guess. Tap the world map to place your pin. You can move it by tapping again before you guess.
  3. Score by distance. Up to 5,000 points per round, falling as your pin lands further from the true place. The true place is only revealed after you guess.
  4. Hints cost 250 points each. Reveal the continent, or the first letter of the country — each hint cuts 250 points from that round.
  5. Daily vs Practice. Daily is the same 5 places for everyone, changing at midnight UTC. Practice deals 5 fresh places every time.
  6. Best and streak are on this device only. Your best total and your Daily streak are saved in your browser, not shared with other players.
  7. Photos are Mapillary, not Google. Street photos come from Mapillary (CC BY-SA, photographer credited) — never Google Street View, and never a copied photo set.
